Create and Assign Skills

Create a Skill

  1. Navigate to the AvSight application, and navigate to the Administration tab
  2. On the Administration page, click the Work Order Admin tab and click the Skills button to create new and view existing skills
  3. To create a new skill click the New button in the upper right
  4. On the New Skill page, enter the Skill Information
    • Required Fields:
      • Skill Name – This is the name of the skill you would like to create. For example: Inspector or Mechanic
  5. Complete any additional fields as described below.
  6. Click Save

Important Fields of note:

  • Inspection Approved?
    • This field determines if this skill is approved to inspect tasks or work instructions.
  • Default Burden Rate
    • This Burden Rate is used as a cost amount per hour for all employees clocked in using this skill. If this field is left blank, the burden rate from the employee is used
  • Default Skill Rate
    • This rate is used for billing for any tasks that bill labor by the hour rather than flat rate.
  • WO Labor Account
    • The GL account used when creating the WIP transactions for each labor entry (clock in/out)

Assign a Skill

  1. Navigate to the AvSight application, and navigate to the Administration tab
  2. On the Administration page, click the Company Admin tab and click the Employee Master button to open the employee to assign skills
  3. To assign a new skill click the All Related tab and click New in the Employee Skills related list
  4. On the New Employee Skill page, enter the Skill Information
    • Required Fields:
      • Skill Name – This is the name of the skill you would like to Assign
  5. Click Save
