Generate Release

Topic Progress:

Generate Release

Generating a release is similar to generating a pick ticket. A release is what is sent to the warehouse to be processed. A release is also how customers are invoiced. Multiple releases can be generated for each Sales Order.

2. Address

Both the shipping and billing addresses are defaulted from the Account selected on the Sales Order. These addresses can be modified and any information modified in this address section will only be used for this one release.

3. Request Ship Date

This is the date you would like the release to be shipped from the warehouse.

4. Paper Work, Hold, and AOG

Paperwork Only: This option informs the warehouse that there is no need to physically ship this release. This often happens when something is picked up or delivered, but not processed within AvSight yet.

Hold: This puts the release on hold. This field is also used with the Order Hold field as well. These two fields place a release on hold, and shows the reason for the hold. A release can still be picked and packaged, but AvSight will not allow a release to be shipped while on hold.

AOG (Aircraft on Ground): This is an indicator to the warehouse that this is an AOG release.

5. Order Hold

If the order was placed on hold, explain the details in this field.

6. Comments and Shipping

Internal comments: Are restricted to company only and not visible on the release.

External Comments: Can be printed on the document and can be seen by customers and vendors.

Shipping and Internal instructions: This field is used to provide any notes needed by the warehouse for specific shipping instructions.

7. Ship Method

Various options for shipping such as FedEx Standard, or FedEx Overnight, etc.

8. Account #

Account number of the shipping carrier. For instance, the account number to be used for FedEx, or UPS.

9. Bill Freight Via

This field lets the warehouse and finance team know who will be paying for the freight on this release.

10. Account Terms

This is a required field that lets the system know how the release will be paid. This field also determines if a credit check is performed on the release. For additional information on the Account Terms field, please see the administration training module.

11. Sales Order Line Details

All lines currently allocated to inventory are shown here. By default all lines are selected, but you can modify what is on each release by deselecting lines. Only lines for the same company location are allowed on a single release.
