Question & Answers
Q: When should I search for parts using the Main Navigation Bar Part Research link rather than the Part Research link found in the Global Navigation Bar found on the bottom left corner?
A: Although both search function provide the same information set, we suggest leveraging the Part Research link from the Main Navigation Bar when searching for part details as your main objective not as part of a workflow such as creating a sales order for example. Why? Because although the data is the same, researching using this link allows the part details to consume the entirety of your browser and therefore breaks the flow of your process if currently in one.
Q: When should I search for parts using the Global Navigation Bar Part Research link found in the bottom left corner rather than the Part Research link found in the Main Navigation Bar which spans the top of your browser?
A: Although both search function provide the same information set, we suggest leveraging the Part Research sticky link found on the bottom left of your browser session when searching for parts during a process such as creating a sales order for example. Why? Because although the data is the same, researching using this link allows the part details appear in a expanded window which does not require you to navigate away from you current screen therefore breaking the process in which you were involved.
Q: Where can I learn more about the details displayed on the Part Research screen?
A: Please see the “Part Research Details” lesson.
